Essential Oils are the ingredient that will determine the therapeutic benefit of the product. Essential Oils are available on the market with descriptors such as *Pure Therapeutic Grade*; Pure ; Natural ; Synthetic; Fragrance or Perfume.

Be sure that the product you choose uses *Therapeutic Grade* essential Oils. Any other type essential oil will not render therapeutic value to the end product.

One way to tell if the product has *Therapeutic Grade* essential oils can be the price. Here at Josie O Products, we only use *Therapeutic Grade* essential oils.

Be wary of the less expensive aromatherapy products. Therapeutic grade essential oils are very costly, there are less costly aromatherapy oils on the market, but they have no therapeutic value. If less costly oils are used in the making of aromatherapy products the end product will have no therapeutic value.

Common Sense and Economics dictate that if an essential oil costs the maker of the product $28.95 per 0.5oz, a product cannont be made with that essential oil and then be sold to the consumer for $2.00, $3.00 or even $4.00.

If you see a product claiming to *Aromtherapy* offered for a dollar or two. Chances are they did not use *therapeutic grade* essential oils. The product wil smell nice, but not have any therapeutic or healing properties.

Essential Oil Therapy

Essential Oil Therapy is a dynamic healing modality that works at a cellular, molecular level as well as on an emotional, psychological level.

Essential Oil Therapy is an ancient healing art utilizing the distillation process of plant materials to extract powerful concentrated essential oils. These oils have been effectively used around the world for centuries for therapeutic purposes such as fighting infection, strengthening the immune system, reducing emotional and mental stress and providing a basis for preventative medicine. This field is recognized and practiced in Europe by physicians, nurses and hospitals. Essential Oil Therapy complements other Health Care Modalities, both Western & Eastern.

As early as 400 B.C., Ancient Egyptian healers put small herbal cones under a patient's headdress. As the cones melted, their curative oils were absorbed through the scalp and healing vapors were inhaled.

In pre-Columbian Mexico, the sick visited huts filled with tiny indoor pools. While the water was heated to high temperatures, rocks were scattered about the pools and, on them, healers laid flowers or herbs. Hours later, as steam penetrated the plants, curative vapors were inhaled. And when the plants' sticky oils collected on the stony surfaces, the fragrant ointment was sometimes massaged into the body.

This century, essential oil therapies have again enjoyed great appeal. In the 1920's, Italian scientists documented their bacteria-destroying capacities and their ability to impact the nervous system. During the 1930's, French chemist Rene-Maurice Gattefosse coined the phrase aromatherapy, to describe therapeutic inhalation of essential oils. During the 40's, French physician Dr. Jean Valnet used them in ointment form to disinfect and heal war injuries.

More recently, research has revealed that a plant's essential oil regulates its hormone system and protects it against disease. Scientists think the oils work in a similar way within the human body. Used properly, they combat problems such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, headache, sexual dysfunction, obesity and even nicotine cravings.

Most of the Aromatherapy Essential Oil Therapy sessions are between 50 - 70 minutes.

Anniversary of my Birth

It is a wonderful and marvelous day today .... It is anniversary of my Birth .... My Birthday !!

My Mom and I spent several hours at the Spa Indulging in Decadant Pampering ... Wooo Hoooo.

It was an odd, yet wonderful feeling to have my own products used on me and to see other's enjoying them so beautifully.

and now ...

I am getting ready for a Marvelous and Wonderful Dinner with my Boys at our favorite Italian Restaurant.

For those of you who don't know the origin of the Josie O products here is the Josie O Story.

THE Josie O STORY

Josephine (Josie) Orphelia was my Maternal Grandmother. She was a wonderful woman and a Native American, she was an Ani Wahya [Wolf Clan Member] Ani Yunwiya [Cherokee].

Growing up my ‘Mamaw’ and Mom instilled in me a love of nature (both physical & spiritual) and all things botanical. My grandmother nurtured and inspired wonderful gardens. Gardens where beautiful grandchildren grew as well as her flowers and herbs.

I was taught, in a very natural manner, the importance of all living things and came to know the wonderful healing properties of plants. I never was one for taking ‘medicine’ or at least the synthetic variety purchased at pharmacies and stores. For most all maladies there is a remedy in nature, you just have to know where to look and honor the medicine.

I grew up and away from some of the things I was taught as a little girl, after college I entered into the Corporate World, I achieved success and was CEO of a successful company. Our family was struck with Tragedy when my brother was in a fatal motorcycle accident and taken from us before his time. I began to question if the material success of the corporate world was really what was most important in life. I came to the conclusion that life is very precious and fleeting, we must live it – be happy and healthy and give unto others.

To live a meaningful and happy life, we must find our purpose. I have now left the daily stress and pressure of the corporate world behind. My purpose is to help others to achieve wellness, happiness, wisdom, respect for the natural world and a ‘good mind’.

The Josie O products will be created and/or found using the knowledge and love of nature, instilled in me by my Mother and Grandmother. Our collection of products will be varied and complimentary, they will be for the mind, body and spirit. You will find Skin Care Products; Aromatherapy Products; Home & Garden Products and Clothing. Whatever the product, you will find that Josie O products will always consist of the best quality ingredients and components available and be presented in a tasteful manner. They will come to you from the foothills of the "Beloved Mountains" the Great Smoky Mountains, ancient home of the Cherokee.
